Dorival Junior accompanies Vitória x Palmeiras at Barradão

Dorival Junior, coach of the Brazilian team, was seen at Barradão to watch the match between Vitória and Palmeiras, played this Sunday, in the first round of the Brazilian Championship.

According to the CBF, the coach and his team will be present at 27 games before the end of the month, accompanying several athletes from the Brazilian football elite competing in the Brazilian Championship, South American and Libertadores matches, as well as visiting some centers training sessions at different clubs.

It was also informed by the institution that all 20 teams competing in the first division will receive at least once the presence of Dorival, or a representative of the national team, in a match played as home team. Dorival Junior also intends, in the future, to analyze matches and visit Series B clubs.

Dorival and Brazilian National Team call-ups

In Dorival's last call-up, his first as coach of the Brazilian national team, only seven athletes who play in Brazilian football were called up. Goalkeepers Rafael, from São Paulo and Bento, from Athletico Paranaense; full-back Ayrton Lucas, from Flamengo; defender Murilo, from Palmeiras; midfielders André, from Fluminense and Pablo Maia, from São Paulo and striker Endrick, from Palmeiras.

Later, due to some injuries and players who needed to be cut, the coach also called up goalkeeper Léo Jardim, from Vasco and defender Fabrício Bruno, from Flamengo, totaling nine athletes who were present in the friendly matches against England and against Spain.

Bento and Fabrício Bruno were starters in both games with the coach. Endrick played and scored in both matches, both coming on as a substitute in the second half. Pablo Maia, who came on against England, and André, who played against Spain, also got their minutes with Dorival.

The Brazilian team's next matches will be preparation for the Copa América. On June 8th, the team will face Mexico and on June 12th, they will play against the United States. The opening date of the Copa América is scheduled for June 20th. There is still no set date for the call-up for friendlies.
