Eduardo Paes jokes about an artificial beach in São Paulo

The mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, brought back the old rivalry with Paulistas after ”The globe” mention that the South Zone of São Paulo will be an artificial beach with even a wave for surfing. To gain access to the site, the investment will be a title of R$ 605,000 plus monthly fee (with spouse and three dependents).

“Oh man! Stop it! Come here! It’s much better! It’s cheaper! It’s natural! It’s Rio! And we love the city of São Paulo! Is it gone?”commented Eduardo Paes making a joke on Twitter.

The investment planned for the year 2024 will be called “São Paulo Surf Club” and is linked to JHSF, a hotel and real estate company, shopping malls and entertainment. The artificial beach will be on the outskirts of Ponte Estaiada, in the Real Parque neighborhood. The first works began in February and should last until the first half of next year.

“It’s only been three or four years since commercially viable technologies emerged for wave formation in swimming pools for surfing. We saw this modality as a way of bringing the beach to our customers. Happy, in which there is another water mirror of waves of the type)”, mentioned Thiago Alonso de Oliveira, CEO of JHSF.

Around the surf club, work will start on approximately 500 high-end apartments and a shopping mall, in addition, there will be beach tennis courts, restaurants, spa and gym.

“But don’t get confused with a wave pool. The surf pool has waves that go eight feet high. It’s about the size of a house.”joked the CEO.

In São Paulo, another undertaking is also operating with the same Wavegarden technology, it is a complex on Praia da Grama, in Itupeva, 75 km from the capital. But there, the pool and the stretch of sand are reserved only for residents of the luxury complex.
