Fausto Silva is discharged after heart transplant and touches fans with gratitude

This Sunday (10), Fausto Silva was discharged from Albert Einstein Hospital, in São Paulo. He had been hospitalized on August 5th due to heart failure and underwent a successful heart transplant on August 27th, due to serious problems with the organ. Last Friday (08), he was transferred from the ICU to a room.

Shortly after being discharged, the presenter used his social networks to express his gratitude to all the healthcare professionals who accompanied him, as well as the support from his fans through loving messages and prayers. Furthermore, he emphasized more than ever the importance of organ donation. Faustão Silva stated: “Hello, guys. I'm out of the hospital, I'm at home, now starting a new phase. First of all, I want to express my eternal gratitude to each one of you who prayed and sent messages of solidarity and support. All of this was fundamental in this my fight for life”.

Emotional video after transplant

The presenter had already used social media after the surgical procedure to express his gratitude to the family of the donor, a 35-year-old athlete and football player. He stated: “I am eternally grateful to José Pereira da Silva, Fábio's father, who was incredibly generous and allowed me to stay alive. I am moved. He gave me the chance to live again. Transmitting the right to continue living to someone else is very more than just generosity. It was a blessing that God gave me.“. In the video, recorded visibly emotional, Fausto Silva added: “I feel nothing, no pain. I am completely recovered.”

Medical Bulletin

According to the published medical bulletin, the presenter shows no signs of rejection of the new organ and will continue to follow the medical guidelines necessary for his rehabilitation. It is worth mentioning that Fausto Silva was placed on the transplant queue of the Unified Health System (SUS) due to the worsening of heart failure that he had been facing since 2020.
