Festival releases line-up with a lot of diversity

O line-up do Planeta Brasil was released this Wednesday (03) and promises great diversity among the artists. The festival will take place in Belo Horizonte, at Esplanada do Mineirão on September 24th and 25th, 2022. It is the biggest musical event outside the common São Paulo – Rio de Janeiro axis, where international shows usually take place.

The fourth largest music festival in Brazil includes diverse rhythms such as axé, rap, rock, electronic and indie music in its programming. With more than 100 artists selected to perform on the six stages of Planeta Brasil, the event will be attended by 25 black artists, including: 50 Cent, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Urias, Oruam, Afrocidade, Chefin, Teto, Bin, PL Quest and Julian Marley.

On the first day, the public will enjoy shows by Vanessa da Mata, Duda Beat, Sidoka, Criolo, Tasha & Tracie, Ludji Luna, Vitão, Jão, Natiruts and IZA, as well as others mentioned above. During the second day of the event, 2 Chainz, Jetlag, Marcelo Falcão, Cat Dealers, Mac Júlia, Black Alien, Jovem Dionísio, Baco Exu do Blues, Orochi, L7nnon and Filipe Ret are some of the names present.

The Planeta Brasil festival debuted in 2009, created by Sleepwalkers and brought together around 8 thousand people. In 2011, the event received its first international attractions, but in 2014, when it was transferred exclusively to Esplanada do Mineirão, it gained the title of mega production. In 2017, it partnered with Planeta Atlântida, which takes place in the southern region of the country.

Several big names in national and international music have already attended the event, such as Tiago Iroc, Anavitória, O Rappa, Raimundos, Guns 'n' Roses, Donavon and Planet Hemp.

The festival was highlighted for its different approach to other events, investing in the presence of artists of different styles, races, ethnicities and different sexualities.

The creator, Henrique Chaves, said that his objective was to “pierce the bubble” within his own region and bring musical and economic reverberation to Minas Gerais.
