This Monday (03), a fire broke out in the set filming of the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power“, located in Bray StudiosWindsor, United Kingdom, information so far is that the fire started due to an electrical short circuit in a warehouse in the backlot area.
After the incident, the “Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service” arrived quickly to contain the flames and no one had to be evacuated from the scene. Filming was interrupted for approximately an hour before resuming, as a precautionary measure.
The fire department issued the following statement regarding this incident:
“At 12:26pm on Monday 3rd April we received reports of a fire at Bray Studios near Windsor. At this time, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bracknell, Slough and Maidenhead Fire Stations were dispatched to the scene”- Translation carried out by the website “The addiction“
It is worth mentioning that this is the second incident that occurred during production, after a horse suffered cardiac arrest on March 21st during rehearsals. A Amazon Studios had already issued a statement about the incident with the horse.
Check out the trailer for the first season of the series below, posted on the official Amazon Prime Brasil channel:

About the plot:
Fans of the series “Rings of Power” will have to wait for the second season to continue following the developments seen at the end of the first, such as the forging of the power rings and the revelation of the identity of Sauron. Scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime Video in the first quarter of 2024.
Filming for the second season took place in the United Kingdom, rather than New Zealand, which was used to film the original trilogy. Sources claim that this change was made to better suit the locations described in the books of JRR Tolkien.
The waiting time for the premiere of the second season of this series will be a little longer than usual, after all we are seeing an increase to around two years in this wait. Mainly in popular series like Stranger Things, which had a three-year difference between its third and fourth seasons. Producer HBO explained that series with a large scope, such as Game of Thrones and Westworld, take longer to produce.
For productions such as: “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, “House of the Dragon” and “Stranger Things”, around 10 months are needed for filming and another 10 months for post-production, including visual effects. Unfortunately for fans, this means longer wait times.
