Changes and news in teams
Lima continued in the starting lineup and André, who was suspended in the match against São Paulo, returned to the team. Lelê took the place of Jhon Arias, who was expelled in the game against São Paulo. Ganso, who had an injury to his left foot, was also out.
Enner Valencia, Ecuadorian striker recently signed by Internacional, started as a starter in today’s match. Danielzinho, who recently returned to Fluminense, was listed for the match.
About the game
In the first five minutes, Fluminense came up with Keno. The winger started on the right side, gave Campaignro a pen and kicked for the goal, but John saved it.
The tricolor team continued to seek space in Colorado’s defense. Later on, in the 25th minute, Fluminense managed to open the scoring: Lima advanced on the left, sent the ball into the area and Internacional’s defense cut it; in the spare, Samuel Xavier tried to shoot for the goal, but ended up finding Cano, who sent the ball to the back of the net and opened the scoring.
Minutes later, Keno stole the ball in Colorado’s defense and went on a counterattack. The attacker tried to finish, but the defense blocked; in the sequence, Keno kicked again to the goal, but the ball hit the defense and John defended.
In the 38th minute, Marcelo made a great move and shot towards the goal; the ball hit Internacional’s defense and went out. In the corner kick, Marcelo himself raised the ball in the area and Martinelli appeared to head the goal and score Fluminense’s second goal in the match.
Already in the additions of the first stage, Keno received a yellow card after fouling De Pena, from Internacional. As he is hanging, the striker will not play in FlaFlu next Sunday (16). With a consistent first half, Fluminense went into the locker room winning 2-0.
Internacional came back for the second half, putting more pressure on the tricolor team, trying to chase the tie. At 18 minutes, the Colorado team managed to score at the entrance to the Fluminense area; the ball reached Rômulo, who ended up finishing over Fluminense’s goal. A few minutes later, Tricolor das Laranjeiras returned: Lelê received a good deep pass, entered the area and shot for the goal. John defended, sending the ball over the baseline.
In the 34th minute, the ball was passed to Alemão, inside the Fluminense area; the attacker gave a bicycle and the ball exploded on the crossbar. Colorado continued without finding spaces in Fluminense’s defense and did not create new opportunities. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Fluminense, with goals from Germán Cano and Matheus Martinelli. Check out the highlights of the match below.
