“It hurts us more than it helps”
At age 30, actress and model Camila Queiroz reflects on the marks she carries due to excessive demands on her own appearance. In an exclusive interview with Quem, she revealed the burden of having to deal with aesthetic pressure from a young age, when she began her modeling career, and how this impacts her relationship with herself to this day.
Despite being a woman within socially imposed standards, Camila says that at the age of 14 she was already told that she should lose weight. “Even though I’m already super thin, naturally thin. I heard that I had to lose cheek.” This, according to her, is something that still affects her relationship with her own image today. “If I hadn’t started as a model, I would be a little less demanding,” he said.
Before debuting as an actress in “Verdades Secretas”, in 2015, Camila spent time in New York, with fellow actress and model Agatha Moreira. From this period, she remembers the search for excessive thinness at all costs, something that she tries to let go of nowadays.
Camila also reflects on how beauty standards especially affect women. “The standard hurts us more than it helps.” Inserted from a very early age in the world of fashion, she says that she sought the much-desired and unattainable perfection for a long time. Now, more mature, she asks: “Be perfect for who, right? That's where the other question comes in,”adds
Husband support
Married to Klebber Toledo since 2018, the actress says she has her husband's full support when it comes to her style and aesthetic choices.

Indecisive, a characteristic she attributes to the Libra sign, Camila always seeks Klebber's opinion on the looks. I ask him a lot, but he always says: “'What What you put on looks beautiful, everything you put on is good, I love your style, I love the way you dress'. So he doesn't choose much”.
Change in appearance
In September, the actress changed her look for a new job and dyed her hair blonde. For her, the change was not that impactful. “Very little has changed. I thought it would change more. It changed a lot more when I cut my hair straight than when I dyed my hair blonde. Because Chanel didn't seem to fit into my wardrobe”he explained.

The transformation from brunette to blonde was something she believes worked well. Detached from her hair, she confesses that she gets sick of her own image if she goes too long without making any changes to her look.
