Jonathan Majors fired from Marvel after allegations of harassment and assault

On the afternoon of this Monday (18), it was confirmed to the websites Deadline and Variety that the 34-year-old actor Jonathan Majors is officially out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the dismissal took place hours after he himself was blamed for acts of harassment and sexual assault, with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, as the victim.

How was the case

In March, the actor had been convicted in New York for attacking Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend, a choreographer he had met in other previous works. The crime happened when they were in the back seat of a private vehicle, according to reports made by the woman, she had taken his cell phone, upon seeing a text message, sent by another person, who was supposedly a lover. At that point, Majors attempted to retrieve the device by force, and Grace felt a blow to her head, resulting in bruising, swelling and substantial pain. The sentence will be judged in February 2024, and the actor could end up serving up to a year in prison.

In the world of fiction, Majors was responsible for bringing the character Kang the Conqueror to life, being considered the center of the current phase of Marvel's expansion, participating in the “Loki” series, and also in the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp : Quantumania”. Now, in light of all that has happened, Marvel intends to continue with the production of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty”, but obviously, with another actor being cast to play the character, replacing Jonathan Majors, which was already in mind when the Marvel thought about removing him from the cast, when he became involved in other legal problems, and in September of the same year, the film producer and president of Marvel, Kevin Feige, was in a meeting with other executives of the company, to discuss all the matters about the MCU, among them, the entire Majors situation.
