José Dumont is sentenced to prison for storing child pornography

The actor Jose Dumont, 72 years old, was convicted by the Justice of Rio de Janeiro for the crime of storing child pornography. The sentence, issued on July 3, establishes a sentence of 1 year in prison and a fine of 10 days, with the legal minimum amount.

According to these values, Brazilian law allows the execution of the sentence to begin in an open regime. Dumont will also be able to appeal freely. The judge also ordered the actor to pay the procedural costs of the case.

PREVIOUS CRIME

In November last year, José Dumont also became a defendant for rape of a vulnerable person. He was arrested in a police operation, but was released on October 12, wearing an electronic ankle bracelet as a precautionary measure.

The complaint, which resulted in the arrest in the act, was made by neighbors. According to the investigation, security cameras in the condominium where he lives caught the actor committing abuse against a 12-year-old teenager, such as kissing and caressing.

During the execution of the search and seizure warrant at the actor’s residence, the police found videos and photos of child pornography on his personal cell phone and computer. The court had also authorized the breach of data secrecy.
