In the fabulous live-action of the most famous doll in the world, we follow everyday life in Barbieland, the magical world of Barbies, where all versions of the doll live in complete harmony. However, one of the dolls, played by Margot Robbie, begins to realize that maybe her life is not so perfect and questions herself about the meaning of her existence. Soon, her life in the pink world begins to change, and eventually, she is kicked out of Barbieland and forced to live in the real world.
Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, Dua Lipa, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell, among many other names known to the public, are in the cast.
WHAT IS THE MOVIE RATING?
Although the long-awaited movie “Barbie” is based on the most famous doll in the world, the live-action production, which opens in theaters on July 20, is not aimed at children. In the United States, “Barbie” is rated for people over 13 and minors only when accompanied by an adult.
In Brazil, the film also does not have a free rating and can be seen by children over 12 years old or accompanied by their parents.
CONAR (National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation) indicated the film for ages 12 and up because it has scenes that are considered unsuitable for younger children, such as some violent acts and dialogues with an adult content.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film will take the doll, played by Margot Robbie, into the real world. In the plot, she will begin to have an identity crisis and will question things she shouldn’t when she realizes that she is another one of Barbieland’s Barbies. Alongside Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, the character will end up leaving the world of dolls and will stop in the real world to find out how normal people live, being exposed to dangers and annoying the CEO of Mattel, played by Will Ferrell.
Months after the premiere of the film in theaters, the live-action goes to the grid of the paid channel MAX, formerly HBO Max.
