Luan back to Grêmio? Trading stagnant due to your prolonged inactivity
Grêmio went back to rehiring Luan, from Corinthians, due to his prolonged inactivity and is looking for players ready to play. The negotiation was close to happening, but it did not advance. While Luan was excited about the return, Grêmio’s financial situation makes new signings difficult. Corinthians does not intend to lend him and is looking for a definitive solution. The gremista club has already announced the arrival of Iturbe in this window, aiming for loans or athletes at the end of their contract. However, the matter may still be resumed in the coming days.

Concern about Luan’s inactivity
At the height of his career, between 2016 and 2018, Luan shone at Grêmio, winning the tri Libertadores in 2017. Later, in 2019, he was sold to Corinthians.
Since November last year, when he was loaned to Santos, the attacking midfielder has not entered the field and is away from Corinthians, without training with his teammates. His fitness and pace of play declined, requiring a period to reach optimal form.
Grêmio showed interest in bringing Luan back, but negotiations stalled, leading the club to look for other options. Corinthians is willing to release the player, but he does not want to leave without receiving his salaries until the end of the contract, which ends at the end of the year.
#BatePronto | @Wanderley It’s DIRECT about Luan’s possible BACK to Grêmio: ′′ If I were Duílio, I’d GIVE Luan a ride to take Luan at the AIRPORT towards Porto Alegre. I would not place ANY OBSTACLES. Luan is a PEPINO at Corinthians. You have to THANK Grêmio for WANT Luan!” pic.twitter.com/2f55mLy4b4

Corinthians’ positioning in relation to Luan
Initially, both Grêmio and Luan’s staff seemed aligned and close to closing the deal. The player was excited about the possibility of returning to his former club and even got in touch with coach Renato Portaluppi to show his interest. However, Corinthians does not intend to loan him out at this time, seeking a permanent transfer. The São Paulo team is not interested in taking out a loan to finance part of Luan’s costs, something that happened in the second half of 2022 to Santos. At the age of 30, the striker will fulfill his contract at Alvinegro until December, and it is estimated that he has to receive pending salaries, totaling around R$ 5 million.
A friendly termination with Corinthians to enable a direct deal with Grêmio has yet to materialize.
