Madonna confirms free show in Copacabana
After numerous suspicions about her show on Copacabana beach (RJ), Madonna confirmed, in the early afternoon of this Monday (25), that she will perform a free show for the Rio public.
The biggest show of your career
The show that Madonna will bring to Brazil is called “The Celebration Tour In Rio” and is part of the “Celebration Tour”, which celebrates the queen of pop's 40th birthday and has been touring the world since last year. The concert features the main classics of her career, such as “Like a Virgin“, “Crazy for You” It is “Like a Prayer“.
The singer's last visit to the country for shows was in 2012, when she brought the acclaimed “MDNA Tour”, a tour for the album of the same name. Before that, only in 2008 and 1993, when she brought, respectively, the tours “Sticky & Sweet” It is “The Girlie Show“
The show is scheduled for May 4th and is scheduled to start at 9:45 pm on the stage that will be set up in front of the Copacabana Palace, a hotel that is already closed to the singer and her team. The show will also be broadcast live in full on the Multishow channel and Globoplay, a streaming service streaming from Globo.

Structure and special security scheme
As stated, the show will be free and there will be no ticket sales for the event. There will also be no audience division or cabins set up on the beach. In order for the crowd – estimated at around 1.5 million people – to watch the performance, a structure will be set up with 16 sound and video towers, a structure similar to other megashows that took place on the waterfront, such as the band's Rolling Stones and the singer Rod Stewart.
In a press conference that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Rio city hall guaranteed a security scheme similar to the New Year's Eve 2024, with facial recognition, security towers and metal detectors. It is worth remembering that public opinion approved the new system used at the New Year's party.
The military police will work with an Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center on a truck that will monitor the work carried out with the help of drones that will monitor the crowd in real time.
