Manchester City is English champion for the 10th time in history

In front of their fans at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City beat West Ham 3-1 this Sunday afternoon (19) and won the 2023/2024 Premier League. Coach Pep Guardiola's team is the first in history to win the competition for four consecutive seasons.

The Manchester team reached the last round of the competition with only one competitor in the fight for the English title, Arsenal, the London team did its part by defeating Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium, however, the champion's cup was really with the 'Citizens' for the tenth time in history.

Manchester City is now the 4th biggest winner of the English championship, behind Arsenal (13), Liverpool (19) and Manchester United (20). Now the team turns its attention to the last game of the season, the FA Cup final, against the city's arch-rivals, Manchester United. The clash takes place next Saturday (25) at Wembley Stadium at 11am (Brasília time).

The game

As soon as the ball rolled in England, Manchester City tried not to give chance to bad luck and just 1 minute into the game, Phil Foden hit from outside the area and scored a great goal to open the scoring. The goal gave peace of mind to Guardiola's team, who began to command the match.

Doku made a great move on the left and crossed low to Phil Foden, who shot from the penalty spot to score his second.

At the end of the first half, in a rare appearance in attack, West Ham diminished. After a corner kick, Kudus took advantage of the surplus and scored with a bicycle kick.

In the second stage, the home team tried to 'kill' the match after 14 minutes. In a play on the right, Bernardo Silva played towards the edge of the area, and Rodri, with a well-placed shot, put an end to the 3-1 score. From then on, the visiting team had little fear, and City controlled the game without difficulty.

Crowd invasion

Before the end of the match, fans were already gathering at the edge of the field waiting for the final whistle. Players had to stop the game for a few minutes and asked for calm so that the match could be completed.

As soon as the match ended, the Etihad Stadium pitch was taken over by City fans who celebrated winning the title.
