Max Verstappen wins sprint race at the Formula 1 Miami GP
– international sports, latest sports news, local games and international games

On Saturday at the Miami GP, Max Verstappen once again showed his undisputed ability in sprint races, securing his ninth victory in this format. The three-time champion, starting from pole position, performed impeccably, leading from start to finish without facing any significant challenge from his opponents.

Highlight for Daniel Ricciardo

One of the highlights of the race was Daniel Ricciardo's impressive performance. The driver, who started in fourth place, not only managed to defend himself from attacks from other competitors, but also provisionally took third place, after overtaking Sergio Pérez. Ricciardo managed to maintain his original position and crossed the finish line in fourth place, in one of the Red Bull Australian's best performances this season. With this result, Ricciardo adds five points to his total in the drivers' championship, moving up to 14th place in the overall standings.

Other highlights and twists in the race

In addition to impressive performances from Verstappen and Ricciardo, the race also saw moments of drama and twists. Lewis Hamilton, in a tight dispute with Kevin Magnussen for eighth place, the last position to concede points in this format, initially crossed the finish line within the points zone. However, his joy was short-lived, as he was punished with a drive through for speeding in the pits and, for failing to comply with the sanction, had 20 seconds added to his race time. As a result, the seven-time champion fell to 16th place, while Yuki Tsunoda inherited Hamilton's original position.

In short, the Miami GP sprint race provided yet another exciting spectacle for Formula 1 fans, with Verstappen consolidating his dominant position and Ricciardo shining with a remarkable performance.

Verstappen leads as incident prompts safety car entry

Verstappen continued in the lead, but Pérez was overtaken by Ricciardo. An accident involving Stroll, Hamilton and Alonso caused Alonso's tire to puncture and forced Norris to stop in the escape area. This resulted in the safety car being brought in on the fourth lap, with Norris and Stroll out of the race.
