Gujarat Titans team director Vikram Solanki praised Mohammed Shami and said that the experienced bowler is leading the bowling attack by example in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

The 32-year-old has been in blazing form with the ball, especially with the new ball in IPL 2023. The right-arm pacer took 19 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 16.37 and an impressive economy rate of 7.23. He was instrumental in helping Gujarat Titans reach the top of the table.

He sets an example for the rest of the group – Vikram Solanki

Speaking ahead of the match against Mumbai Indians, Vikram Solanki said that they had an experienced bowling attack led by Mohammed Shami.

He said, ‘It is difficult for the bowlers at this time. The wickets are better, batsmen are hitting boundaries if they haven’t done so already. As far as our group is concerned, we have a very experienced group which is being led very well by Mohammed Shami and he sets an example for the rest of the group to follow. Vikram Solanki said.

He said, ‘Simply said, he (Shami) is an extraordinary bowler. Irrespective of format and playing position, you think about the skill-set that he possesses, it makes him a force to be reckoned with in any format at any point of time. He added.

Vikram Solanki said that Mohammed Shami is a force to be reckoned with because of his impeccable seam delivery and control with the ball across formats.

“We watch his seam delivery in awe and I never tire of it when commentators are talking about it, and it is the same with white ball or red ball cricket – his seam delivery is impeccable,” he adds.

“As far as his control of the areas in terms of what he is trying to do, he is excellent. He has a huge heart and is so experienced in any situation that it only serves him well. All those things collectively go towards making Mohammed Shami the artist that he is.” he concluded.

The Hardik Pandya-led side is at the top of the 10-team points table with 16 points. The defending champions will be the first team to reach the playoffs if they beat Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 12.
