“Quiet on Set” gets release date in Brazil
In recent weeks, the new documentary from the streaming platform Max, ex-HBO Max, “Quiet on Set”: The Dark Side of Kids TV” (which was titled “The Dark Side of Children's TV“, in Portuguese) has caused a lot of buzz and demonstrations on social media by exposing the abuse suffered by child stars of children's series on the Nickelodeon channel, which were directed or produced by Dan Scheneider, such as “Amanda's Show” (1999-2002) and “Sam and Cat” (2013-2014). In Brazil, the documentary will premiere on April 16.

The controversial series exposes the dark behind-the-scenes of hit Nickelodeon series produced and/or directed by Dan Scheneider, such as “Drake and Josh” (2004) and Icarly (2007), with real accounts of psychological and even sexual abuse committed by Dan in cast participants. Drake Bell, who shocked the internet by reporting that he had been sexually abused by one of the producers of the series he stars in with Josh Peck, in 2004, and Jennette McCurdy, from “ICarly”, in 2007 who, among other allegations, states that he had even She even received offers from the channel of up to 300 thousand dollars to avoid exposing the abuse she suffered during the production of the series.
“For 20 years, he shaped children's entertainment and culture. But it marked one of (TV’s) darkest chapters,” explains writer Scaachi Koul in the first trailer released.

“Quiet on Sef: The Dark Side of Kids TV” is a documentary produced in 2024 and, so far, only released in the United States, but which has already shocked the world with the reality behind highly successful series on the Nickelodeon channel, bringing to light the various abuses suffered by the cast, as well as situations of sexism and racism. Among the various names present in the production that expose the sordid details of the series created and produced by Dan Schneider – accused by the child stars of his series of cases of rape – such as Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, Bryan Hearne and Katrina Johnson, Drake Bell and director Virgil Fabian are some of the professionals who expose a truth hidden for more than 20 years.
