Kim Kardashian and her most striking looks at the Met Gala

Kardashian has already been present in several editions of the event and, in a way, her looks have always been highly commented, whether it be criticism and memes or as one of the best dressed at the event. In 2019, Kim bet on a totally impeccable and sensual look, where she accentuated her curves. The “wet” style of the dress was deliberate, Kim wanted to look like she was wet coming out of the water and the crystals hanging from the dress played the role of water drops.

In 2021, the theme of the Met Gala was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”, with the aim of celebrating North American fashion. Kim bet on a somewhat curious look that left fans and experts in the fashion world speechless. The businesswoman dared in a completely All Black look, from head to toe. At the time, still married to Kanye West, the two matched looks and were one of the most talked about couples for choosing looks.

But it was in 2022, where the theme turned to celebrating American fashion, that Kim had one of the most discussed and controversial looks. Kim wore a dress previously worn by none other than Marilyn Monroe when she sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to then-President JFK in 1962. “In a way, it’s the original naked dress. That’s why it was so shocking.” said Kim.

The Met Gala 2023 takes place today, May 1st, and Kim Kardashian is one of the confirmed names.
