Side effect of Ozempic medicine shocks internet users

The Ozempic medication is one of the most talked about topics on social media, where thousands of users comment and share images of the results of those who use it to lose weight quickly. This medication, sold in injectable pen format, costs between R$700 and R$1000. Its active ingredient is semaglutide, a substance that inhibits the appetite and promotes the patient's satiety. However, internet users point out side effects, mainly in the shape of the head, which is disproportionate to the rest of the body, earning the name “Ozempic Head”.

Produced by the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, Ozempic is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and one of its results is weight loss. The medicine also helps in the treatment of problems in the gastrointestinal tract, feelings of weakness, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), inflammation of the pancreas, among other diseases. Its use must be prescribed and controlled by doctors, as abusive use can cause malnutrition and dehydration.

Consequences of weight loss

Fat loss at an accelerated pace is noticed in other parts of the body, with a decrease in mass in the glutes. As the patient loses pounds, the area becomes saggy and lacks skin elasticity. Consequently, the greater the percentage of fat a person eliminates, the greater the result of a “drooping butt” tends to be.
