The reason behind Brendan Fraser not accepting new roles

Last Wednesday (3), the American actor Brendan Fraser participated and was honored at the Greenwich International Film Festival (Greenwich International Film Festival, in free translation) – also known as GIFF. Fraser recently won the Oscar in the category “Best Actor” for his performance in the drama film “The whale” (2023).

During his participation, the star won the “GIFF Inspiration Award”. The tribute is part of the “Inspiration Talk & Award Ceremony”, designed by Greenwich Festival to benefit and honor people and institutions who are inspiring. The non-profit organization Abilis benefited from the festival. The entity is committed to providing services and support to people with special needs and their families throughout their lives. The award is given to an artist whose philanthropic work inspires others. According to the president of GIFF, Wendy StapletonFraser “inspired the entire world with his achingly authentic portrayal of Charlie in Darren Aronofsky's 'The Whale'”.

Still at the event, during a chat with the sports journalist Hannah Storm and with the audience, the actor revealed that he is taking some time off and that he is being demanding with his work, without having any project in mind. When asked about his plans for future films, Fraser joked:

“I read the negotiations the other day. Apparently I'm going to have to get a sign. It could be a long summer”said in reference to the writers' strike declared last Tuesday (2). “Right now I have nothing, I'm really being picky right now”he told the audience.
