Vice president of Flamengo talks about Gabigol's condition after punishment
Despite his absence in the 3-0 victory over Nova Iguaçu (first game of the Carioca Championship final), Gabigol received the support of the fans and the vice-president of football, Marcos Braz. The attacker is suspended by the Anti-Doping Sports Court until April 2025 for attempted fraud in an exam anti-doping.
Braz said, upon leaving Maracanã, that the attacker made a mistake, but defended the athlete. He reinforced that Gabriel took a blood test and the result was negative, as was the result of the urine test, which had no notes. Braz also admitted that he was not counting on the athlete being suspended, but rather a more severe warning. Finally, the vice president of red-black Carioca spoke about Gabigol's delay in taking the exam, resulting in this punishment.
Previously, the athlete officially commented on the decision of the Anti-Doping Sports Court of Justice.

Marcos Braz reveals if Gabigol is ok
Asked about a possible conversation with the athlete after the suspension, Marcos Brás confirmed that he spoke with Gabigol. The leader reported “He's as good as possible, right? He is continuing to train, doing his training. It is known that the club is defending him, and it could not be different with any employee or player. Now we have to wait for the international committee and see what it will decide.”
Flamengo awaits new trial of the athlete
In an official statement, the club declared surprise at Gabigol's two-year suspension and promised to assist the athlete in filing an appeal in Switzerland.
If the current stay after the appeal will exceed the period of the contract with Flamengo. Currently, the contract ends on December 31, 2024.
The expectation is that the appeal will allow for a new trial of the athlete and the possibility of his release to play before the deadline set out in the previous decision.
