Aaron Carter is found dead in his California home

Former children's pop singer, who gained fame with the song ''I Want Candy'', Aaron Carter, is found dead this Saturday (5) at the age of 34 at his home in California. He, who is the younger brother of Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys, had his body found after police officers received calls between 11am today, via 911, the emergency number where they were informed that a man had drowned in the bathtub. Aaron left behind an 11-month-old son, Prince, with his ex-fiancée, Melanie Martin.

This Tuesday (1), the singer was reportedly stopped by the police in his car on suspicion of drunkenness reported by Melanie, but the breathalyzer test showed that he was sober. Photos circulated on the internet of him entering through the car's sunroof after forgetting his car keys inside.

Aaron rose to fame in the late 1990s as a pop singer, releasing four studio albums. The first of them in 97 when he was just 9 years old. The album bore his name and sold more than 1 million copies. The second was titled as ''Aaron's Party selling more than 3 million copies. Then he started becoming a regular on Nickelodeon, the channel that revealed teen idols like iCarly's Jennette McDurdy and Sam & Cat's Ariana Grande. The artist also used to go on tours with the Backstreet Boys during the heyday of the boy band, of which his older brother, Nick, was a member.

In 2012, Aaron's sister Leslie died from an overdose. According to the TMZ website, she was addicted to prescription medication and was trying to control her addiction. For this reason she left her home in Canada and went to live with her family in New York, where she died at the age of 25.

At home, the family tried to keep the medicine out of Leslie's sight, but one moment she was alone at home and found some medicine. The youngest Carter sister was found unconscious and died hours later.
