In the early hours of this Monday (3), more precisely at 5:20 am (Brasília time), the Brazilian Women’s National Team, which will compete in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, left for its destination for the competition, which begins on July 20th.

Together with the plane that was chartered, with the aim of reducing the impacts caused by the time difference in Australia, the selection carries messages of support for women who suffer prejudice and discrimination, such as: “No woman should be forced to cover her head.”, “No woman should be killed for not covering her head” It is “No man should be hanged for saying that”.

The commission is preparing the athletes within the flight itself so that they arrive already adapted and prepared to the oceanic country. On the trip, which will last 25 hours, the delegation is already working, such as changing the time of meals and habits, in addition to specific training inside the aircraft.

According to the CBF’s own schedule, the team’s first training session will take place on Thursday (6), after a day of rest after landing on Australian soil.

The team will stay in Gold Coast in training until July 18th, when it will leave for Brisbane, the place that will serve as the base for the Brazilian team throughout the group stage of the competition.

Brazil will arrive in Australia with the mission of winning the first World Cup in its history. The team has reached the podium twice, with second place in 2007, having lost to Germany in the final, and third place in 1999.

Brazil will make its debut in the World Cup against Panama, on the 24th, in Adelaide, then will face France, on the 29th, in Brisbane and will close the first phase against Jamaica, on the 2nd of August, in Melbourne.
