Blink-182 announce new album after 12 years

Last Monday (18), the American rock band Blink-182 announced on their Instagram their new album “One More Time…”, with a release date scheduled for October 20th. Furthermore, the band also revealed that the first song from the album will be released next Thursday (21st) and whether it will also be called “One More Time”.

Return to the stage and new album

The trio formed by Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus released their latest work last year, with the song “EDGING”. After 12 years since their last album, the members got together again in 2021. Since then, the band, which has already undergone reformulations in its original lineup, has not stopped.

The announcement of the new album was also accompanied by an exclusive video of the three members talking about the path they had taken up to that point. In the world of music since 1992, the band marked the generation of the 90s and 2000s, being one of the most influential rock bands of the time.

The new album will have 17 new tracks, all produced by drummer Travis Barker. The tracks were recorded during the band's reunion world tour.

Return to Brazil and rapprochement

The expectation of Brazilian fans was that Blink-182 would come to Brazil for Lollapalooza, a festival in which they were already confirmed. However, the trip had to be canceled due to Travis Barker's health problem. Now, with the announcement of the new album, the expectation is that the artists will come to Brazil in 2024.

In the album's announcement video, the trio says that Mark Hoppus' cancer diagnosis brought the group closer together and made them work together again. In 2021, Hoppus was diagnosed with lymphoma. Today, the bassist is cancer-free after 5 months of diagnosis, but continues to recover, according to his interview with People magazine in August this year.
