CBF confirms Brazil’s candidacy for the 2027 Women’s World Cup
The dream of hosting a World Cup got closer for Brazil. CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues signed the document with FIFA confirming the country’s candidacy to host the next Women’s World Cup in 2027. The decision has the support of the Federal Government.
After signing the document, Ednaldo showed enthusiasm and believes that Brazil has the adequate structure to host a world-class tournament like the Women’s World Cup:
“With all the sporting equipment and infrastructure that we have, we believe we are going to have a great World Cup. Receiving the World Cup is part of our project to grow women’s football throughout the country”, said the president of the CBF.

During the visit of the competition cup to Brazil at the end of March, the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, reiterated his desire to organize the Women’s World Cup in the country in 2027:
“The Federal Government, through the Presidency, the Ministry of Sport, the Itamaraty, will be available to CBF to do whatever is necessary so that we can bring, in 2027, the Women’s World Cup to Brazil. It will be an event extraordinary, motivating the construction of a political awareness among the Brazilian people so that they understand the participation of women effectively in every corner where they can and want to participate, where they want, the way they want”, said the President of the Republic.
The choice of the next host for the Women’s World Cup will only take place in May of next year.
This year, the Women’s World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. Brazil debuts in the competition on July 24 against Panama, in Adelaide. The team will still face France and Jamaica in the following rounds of the group stage.
