Childbirth moves the medical team and photographer

This Thursday (6th), Maria Lívia was born in São Joaquim, in the Serra de Santa Catarina, in a calf delivery. Surrounded by the amniotic sac, the youngest of Larissa and João Marcos Borges, arrived in the world in a “little package”, described his mother. What happened made the medical team, the parents and the photographer emotional.

Fetal delivery is a rare condition, according to experts, as the gestational sac normally bursts during labor.

The emotional mother says: “It was an indescribable feeling. A lot of love involved. It was our dream to have another little girl and coming wrapped in a little gift package filled our hearts with joy”.

Larissa gave birth at 7:31 am, by caesarean section at the Sagrado Coração de Jesus Charity Hospital. Still inside the amniotic sac, the baby moved slowly while everyone watched.

Obstetrician Joana Barata cut the gestational sac soon after, and took the baby to her mother’s lap.

She says: “Days like today fill our hearts! Maria Livia arrived through a beautiful, respectful and caesarean section. Births like this show us how small we are before life and God and I am happy to have allowed us to transform this moment into something more than special for this family that trusted me”.

According to the mother, Larissa Hugen Serafim Borges, 21, who cut the umbilical cord after the birth was the father João Marcos Pereira Borges, 26, in addition to having participated in the entire birth process, from the beginning. Baby Maria Lívia is the second daughter of the couple, and on Saturday (8) they were already at home.

The girl’s birth moved everyone, but especially the photographer, who is João’s aunt, Sandra Rosa. Even used to taking pictures of different situations, Sandra was never able to photograph births until the end, as she always felt bad. But she claims: “I said ‘I’m going to face this, I’m going to make it’. And this beautiful surprise happened to me. It seems to overcome me and wake me up in an incredible way”. As soon as she found out about Larissa’s pregnancy, the professional decided to prepare for the moment.
