Coach Bruno Lage is disputed by Brazilian and European clubs after the departure of Luís Castro

Coach Bruno Lage, 47, is being hotly contested to take charge of Botafogo, after the departure of Luís Castro, who left the alvinegro to command Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia. According to information from “The globe”the alvinegra board considers the conversations still quite recent, since the Portuguese coach has proposals from European football, where he seems to be more inclined to remain when he received contact from other Brazilian clubs, such as Atlético-MG.

Bruno Lage has been without a club since he was fired from Wolverhampton in October 2022 after winning just six points in 8 games, leaving Wolves in 10th place in the Premier League. He also worked in 2019 for Benfica’s main team and ended the season with a title in the Portuguese Championship.
