Earth and Passion: ‘There is curiosity and lust’, says Diego about ‘Kelmiro’

An unofficial couple that has been giving a lot to talk about in “Earth and Passion”, from TV Globo, is by Kelvin (Diego Martins) and Ramiro (Amaury Lorenzo), who even though they didn’t exchange explicit vows of love and had no vision of being together at the moment, fans compared the idea and even the shipper, “Kelmiro”.

“Each time there is a scene between me and Amaury, we see that Walcyr adds another layer to this relationship. And it is no longer just curiosity, it becomes more interesting because we have more things to live with them”, added the actor, who is also a drag queen.

The actor still wants the two to end up together: “It’s a relationship between a hired killer and a super-trick bisexual, who isn’t there for others and just wants to get along. And we love them both, we want them to end up together.”

“What redemption is there for a character who isn’t necessarily evil, but who is doing things because he has to? It is a very complex discussion. But my dream is that they end up together, I just don’t know if, exactly, good. But it would be interesting if it was in this place of ‘let’s keep doing a scam and getting along?’”, he evaluated about the end of the characters.

BELIEF ROMANCE IN REAL LIFE

Due to stereotypes, many people believe that the profile of both characters would not be believable and compatible in real life, but Diego Martins disagrees with this: “At the beginning of the telenovela, many people said: ‘Wow, a macho, brutish guy will stay with you. the other who is gay?’. And people, especially those who are not part of our community, have no idea how real this is, how easily this type of relationship happens”.

“I’ve never experienced this type of relationship, but I have many friends who live a lot, mainly by app, with married guys, with family and who would never have the courage to come out. And that they are living that other stop because they are afraid to live what they want to live. These kinds of complicated relationships exist,” he said.

The star also said that he sees the characters in the same moment of discovery: “Perhaps Ramiro is in a place of discovering himself and beyond his sexuality. I see his character discovering himself in other situations.”

“And Kelvin too: as much as he is very well resolved with sexuality, maybe he has never felt love, received love or been in love. And I think that’s where they meet: in this place of discovery”, concluded Diego Martins.
