find out who the new manager could be!

Coach Mano Menezes’ spell at Internacional came to an end this Monday (17th), after going through a very unstable moment in recent weeks. The 0-0 tie in the confrontation between the club from Rio Grande do Sul and Palmeiras inside Beira-Rio was the last straw for the coach, who released an official note, announcing his departure. In addition to the coach, assistant Sidnei Lobo also left Colorado. The most likely name quoted to assume command is Argentine Eduardo Coudet, mainly due to the good relationship with president Alessandro Barcellos.

“I would like to confirm Sport Club Internacional’s decision to dismiss our technical team. It took 15 months of work, where I did my best to get the results and overcome the difficulties the club is going through. I thank the players, employees and the board for the relationship of trust and transparency. To Internacional’s fans and everyone who works for the club, here’s my thanks and I wish you the best of luck on your journey!” – said the coach in an official note.

Mano Menezes arrived at Beira-Rio in April last year, finding Internacional in a complicated situation, just eliminated in the semi-final of the Campeonato Gaúcho by their biggest rival and with a start of two draws in the opening rounds of the Brasileirão. The coach’s result that season was considered positive, leaving the club second in the national league, guaranteeing a place in the Libertadores. The negative point in the campaign was a catastrophic elimination in the Sul-Americana for Melgar in the quarter-finals.

After a start in 2022, the Colorado fan expected a repeat of the performance presented, but ended up putting more and more pressure on his coach. In 2023, Inter ended up eliminated again by Grêmio in the state and in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, leaving the only undefeated campaign in the group stage of Libertadores. In the Brazilian Championship, the team from Rio Grande do Sul is eleventh, with 22 points.

In search of a new coach, Colorado is going through the sixth resignation in the era of president Alessandro Barcellos. Abel Braga started command of the club until the beginning of 2021, being replaced by Miguel Ángel Ramírez. After the Argentine, Diego Aguirre, Alexander Medina and Mano Menezes himself took over Internacional in the sequence.
