Flamengo wins with controversial arbitration and makes a drastic decision!

This Wednesday, Flamengo faced Athletico Paranaense away from home, at Arena da Baixada, and won by 2-0. After the victory, the team decided that it would no longer grant interviews and that it will not have a press conference with coach Jorge Sampaoli , due to arbitration.

That’s because, in the match against Hurricane, the players complained and were very uncomfortable with the refereeing. In the second half of the game, Gabigol had his goal canceled by VAR, after all his teammates celebrated the move, and there was revolt. After the decision, coach Sampaoli received a yellow card.

With that, Flamengo repeated the protest against the arbitration: “By determination of the football direction, athletes and coach Jorge Sampaoli will not grant interviews after Flamengo’s classification in the Copa do Brasil. It is a protest against repeated and absurd errors during the match.”declared the team.

This decision is the same as that of Palmeiras, since the São Paulo club vetoed interviews after friction with the CBF and the National Arbitration Commission, after declaring that they disagree with the improvement of the technical level of the referee in Brazil. In a note, they said they were shielding themselves, as they are in a sequence of decisive games.

In the last minutes of the game, Gerson was expelled after arguing with Thiago Heleno and will be absent in the next match against Grêmio in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil.

Rubro-Negro won the game, with their first goal after Thiago Maia crossed again into the area, Arrascaeta crossed into the middle and Erick rocked his own team’s net, leaving the rival in advantage. The second goal was scored by Gabigol who received the ball arranged by Léo Pereira.
