Malcom scores two goals and guarantees Al-Hilal's victory against Al-Ittihad

Al-Hilal is hungry for victory. With two goals scored by Malcom and Neymar honoring the team in the warm-up, this Thursday Jorge Jesus' team won the match against Al-Ittihad 4-1, thus winning the Saudi Arabian Super Cup. The Brazilian player scored twice in the clash against Benzema and secured the team's 34th consecutive victory.

Al-Hilal's next game will take place next Tuesday, against Al-Ain, in the first leg of the Asian Champions League semi-final. The loser this time, Al-Ittihad, will return to the field on the 20th, for the Saudi Championship, which has Al-Hilal in the lead, being close to the title. On the 30th, the two rivals will meet in the semi-final of the Saudi King Cup.

Titles won

With that title, Al-Hilal won the Saudi Super Cup four times. The tournament, which was recently created in 2013 in the country, has Jorge Jesus' team as its biggest winner. On the other hand, Al-Ittihad lost the competition for the third time.

Jorge Jesus' team showed why they achieved so many consecutive victories with an incredible second half. Opening the scoring of the match, Malcom scored a goal. However, Hamdallah scored on a rebound from a penalty saved by Bono, tying the game. Salem Al-Dawsari put the Riyadh team back in front with a shot from outside the box. Afterwards, Malcom scored the third goal of the match and, in the last minute of the second half, Nasser Al-Dawsari scored, off a rebound from the former Lazio Serbian's shot. If the victories continue, Al-Hilal has a chance of breaking the overall record in the history of football – 41 consecutive triumphs for women's Lyon, achieved between 2012 and 2013.

One of the highlights of the match was the appearance in the warm-up of Neymar, who has been out of action for almost six months due to a serious knee injury. The Brazilian player also participated in the title celebration and expressed his desire to return to play for the team through his social networks.

The coaches know each other from old clashes

It is not the first time that coaches Jorge Jesus and Marcelo Gallardo have faced each other. The two made the first final since the 2019 Libertadores decision, in which the Portuguese won. In addition to Flamengo's victory over River Plate in Lima, Mister beat the Argentine in three previous clashes with Al-Ittihad this season. In total, Jorge Jesus won five victories in the five games against Marcelo Gallardo.
