Man says he’s Jay-Z’s son and takes case to Supreme Court for DNA test

A 30-year-old man who claims to be the son of American rapper Jay-Z accuses the rapper of abusing American laws in order to circumvent a paternity test, according to the Daily Mail.

For over a decade, Rymir Satterthwaite has been fighting to prove that the rapper is his biological father. After being dismissed numerous times, Rymir is now taking the battle to the New Jersey Supreme Court in hopes of reopening the case and “to force’‘ Jay-z getting DNA test done.

In an interview with Daily Mil, Rymir said that he does not expect anything from Jay-Z, only recognition as a son and that he will not stop until his will is fulfilled.

However, the rapper’s lawyers denied Rymir Satterthwaite’s allegations. They told the Daily Mail newspaper: “The allegations have previously been thoroughly reviewed by the courts and have been refuted. I’m sure this will be the result of whatever lawsuits Mr. Satterthwaite is currently considering”. Asigned the rapper’s lawyers.

To continue the case, Satterthwaite filed a new motion with the Supreme Court in February 2023, requesting that the Court open documents dating back to 2012.

But, still according to the Daily Mail, the motion was denied, the Court would have understood that “had no jurisdiction to reopen matters in the court of appeals or to open records in the court of trial.” Affirmed the court.

So Rymir turned his case over to the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, which is still reviewing the case.

According to Rymir Satterthwaite, In 1992 his mother Wanda would have been sexually involved with Jay-Z while they were on and off with their relationship which would have started while Wanda was at school.

At that time, Wanda was 16 years old and the rapper was 22, and far from becoming a worldwide sensation, Jay-Z’s success began to emerge in 1996 after the release of his first album.

According to Rymir, the relationship was short-lived and in the year he was born, in 1993, the relationship would have come to an end. At the time, his mother chose to put the name of her high school sweetheart, Robert Graves, as his biological father on the birth certificate. And still according to Satterthwaite, Robert Graves would have accompanied Wanda to the hospital on the day of her birth.

Wanda always knew that Robert was not the biological father, and this became more and more evident as Rymir grew older and there was no resemblance to the father that was on his birth certificate.

Wanda revealed her biological father’s identity when Satterthwaite was eight years old. But that issue only escalated into a legal battle in 2010, when Wanda’s health began to deteriorate.

Robet Graves agreed to take the DNA test and it was proven that he was not the father. Wanda insisted that at the time she had a relationship with both men.

After years and years of trials and tribulations for Jay-Z’s lawyers, the case was dropped and Satterthwaite continues to fight for paternity recognition.
