Silvero Pereira will be the Maniac of the Park in a film about serial killer

Prime Video announces this Tuesday (25), the production of the Original Amazon film Maníaco do Parque and the exclusive documentary series Maníaco do Parque: A História Untold. Produced by Santa Rita Filmes, the titles are expected to be released in 2024 and will be yet another addition to the Prime subscription.

The fiction feature Maníaco do Parque delves into the history of the greatest Brazilian serial killer, motorcycle courier Francisco (Silvero Pereira), who was accused of attacking 21 women, murdering ten of them and hiding their bodies in Parque do Estado, in São Paulo.

The killer’s story and the details of his psychopathy are revealed by Elena (Giovanna Grigio), a novice reporter who sees in the investigation of the crimes committed by the maniac a great chance to leverage her career.

While Francisco continues to live free and attack women, his fame in the sensationalist media grows vertiginously, generating terror in the capital of São Paulo.

The film is directed by Maurício Eça, produced by Marcelo Braga and has a script by LG Bayão. Thaís Nunes, investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker, is the lead researcher.

SERIES

The documentary series revisits the case from another perspective, that of one of the surviving victims and the families of the murdered women. Based on unpublished testimonies and surprising revelations, the production presents mistakes in the investigation and the role of the media in the development of the investigation.

The documentary is directed by Thaís Nunes together with Maurício Eça. The production is by Marcelo Braga, who is also the executive producer along with Flávia Tonalezi. The screenplay is by Thaís Nunes and Guilherme César.
