Study demonstrates efficacy of chikungunya vaccine

After a study carried out with the immunizer created by Butantan with the help of a French biotechnology company called Valneva, 99% efficacy and protection was guaranteed. The vaccine being tested is the only one against chikungunya.

The trial of the vaccine developed by Butantan with the French company promoted antibodies close to the percentage of 100% of the participants, when receiving only one dose of the vaccine. According to the magazine responsible for producing content about science in England, The Lancet, the third phase of the test promoted these positive results. Along with the high efficacy, the immunizer had few milder adverse reactions, such as pain in the muscle, head and symptoms of physical fatigue.
