Thiago Brennand arrives handcuffed in Brazil and will undergo an audience in SP

This Sunday (30), businessman Thiago Brennand will undergo a custody hearing, after having landed in Brazil escorted by the federal police. He was arrested in Abu Dhabi, accused of bodily injury, false imprisonment, rape and threat. Since April 17, the heir had been detained in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. His extradition was negotiated by current president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)during his visit to the country.

The Court of Justice informed that Thiago has 24 hours to attend the custody hearing, after the preventive detention in the Provisional Detention Center I of Pinheiros (CDP), São Paulo. He was brought from Charles de Gaulle airport, in Paris, and landed in Guarulhos, followed by the federal police. (FEDERAL POLICE). According to information released by the TV Globo.

Brennand, was arrested by UAE police on April 17 and charged with assault, kidnapping, and rape. According to the lawyer for the 12 victims, Marcio Cezar Janjacomo, “None of them believed in Justice anymore. They were disappointed, because ‘Oh my God, they don’t arrest, it doesn’t happen’. In Brazilian territory, the heir has 5 arrest warrants against a model, a young woman and a miss, in addition to a fourth woman. All the victims said they had been raped by the businessman. He was also denounced by a waiter and a caretaker at the condominium where he lived in the city of Porto Feliz. Both reported having suffered attacks and threats. Authorities also found weapons and explosive equipment at one of his residences.

Thiago, even resisted arrest. He claimed to be innocent and said he was being wronged. The hearing that will take place will have one of the judges who issued one of the arrest warrants. This judgment is provided internationally, in which the accused for the crimes has the right to a defense, so that a judge will assess whether there was any illegality in his arrest.
