27 cities in Bahia are affected by heavy rain

According to a note from the government of Bahia this Saturday (29), at least 27 municipalities are suffering the consequences of the heavy rains of recent days. Among them, six municipalities declared a state of emergency.

Among the affected municipalities are: Anagé, Canavieiras, Caraíbas, Caravelas, Eunápolis, Guaratinga, Ibirapuã, Itabela, Itabuna, Itagimirim, Itamaraju, Itanhém, Jucuruçu, Lajedão, Medeiros Neto, Mucuri, Nova Viçosa, Prado, Teixeira de Freitas, Vereda and Victory of the Conquest.

The six municipalities are in a state of emergency: Belmonte, Caraíbas, Ilhéus, Itapebi, Porto Seguro and Santa Cruz Cabrália.

In available data, throughout the state of Bahia, the rain left 75 people homeless, 7,591 displaced and 9,348 affected.

The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, through Civil Defense, will allocate R$ 2.32 million to Santa Cruz Cabrália and R$ 1.59 million to Ilhéus, which aims to assist the population affected by the rain.
