27 cities in Bahia are affected by heavy rain
According to a note from the government of Bahia this Saturday (29), at least 27 municipalities are suffering the consequences of the heavy rains of recent days. Among them, six municipalities declared a state of emergency.
Among the affected municipalities are: Anagé, Canavieiras, Caraíbas, Caravelas, Eunápolis, Guaratinga, Ibirapuã, Itabela, Itabuna, Itagimirim, Itamaraju, Itanhém, Jucuruçu, Lajedão, Medeiros Neto, Mucuri, Nova Viçosa, Prado, Teixeira de Freitas, Vereda and Victory of the Conquest.
The six municipalities are in a state of emergency: Belmonte, Caraíbas, Ilhéus, Itapebi, Porto Seguro and Santa Cruz Cabrália.
In available data, throughout the state of Bahia, the rain left 75 people homeless, 7,591 displaced and 9,348 affected.

The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development, through Civil Defense, will allocate R$ 2.32 million to Santa Cruz Cabrália and R$ 1.59 million to Ilhéus, which aims to assist the population affected by the rain. The value of the amount was measured through the values requested by the city halls in the work plans sent to the mystery.
Due to the rain, the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabrália canceled Tonhão, a traditional June festival in the city that opens the calendar of June festivities in the state.
The Secretariat of Infrastructure of Bahia reported that two occurrences are still under observation on the highways. One of them is from a culvert that broke on the BA-283, located between Itabela and Guaratinga, which led to the stretch being on half track; the other is from a manhole that ruptured on BA-001, between Belmonte and Santa Cruz Cabrália, resulting in a crater and half a lane for drivers.
The Governor of Bahia Jerônimo Rodrigues; Waldez Góes, Minister of Integration and Regional Development; the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa; and Agnelo Santos, the mayor of Santa Cruz Cabrália flew over the region of Porto Seguro, Belmonte and Santa Cabrália last Monday (24). On the occasion, Rodrigues stated that Conder and engineering from the City of Santa Cruz Cabrália will prepare a recovery project for the region.
