“Titãs Encontro” reunites for the last performance of the tour at Lollapalooza

The Lollapalooza festival takes place this weekend (22, 23 and 24 March), at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo. Among the main names in this edition are Blink-182, Arcade Fire, Kings Of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Titãs Encontro, Sam Smith and SZA. The band Thirty Seconds to Mars was one of the most anticipated attractions by the public of this edition. On the second night of the event, Titãs presented, for the last time, the “Titãs Encontro” tour, which celebrates the band's 40th anniversary with the original lineup on stage.

After a long and successful tour, Titãs Encontro closed the program for the second day of Lollapalooza. The shows started in April last year and traveled all over Brazil, passing through arenas and stadiums with packed shows. As it was a smaller show, the band presented a slightly smaller version of the show, with 24 songs.

The show started with music “Fun“, which was played by Paulo Miklos. Then they followed with “Nowhere”, and “Prime Man”. When Branco Mello approached the stage to sing “Tô Cansado”, he recalled his happiness in being back on stage after a period of absence due to treatment for laryngeal cancer. “I'm very happy to be here, on this stage, with these old and dear friends of mine, where I'm having fun. After who knows how many throat operations. But I'm here, healed and I'm going to sing now!” he said.

At another point, the whole band gathered at the front of the stage for an acoustic set, where they played the songs “Epitafio”, “Os Cegos do Catelo” and “Pra Dizer Adeus”. Then, Arnaldo Antunes called Alice Fromer, daughter of the late former titan Marcelo Fromer, to go on stage and sing “Toda Cor” with the other members.

After the most intimate moment, the band came back with everything to play classics like “Go Back”, “Família”, “Polícia” and “Bichos Escrotos”, as well as a moment in honor of the singer Erasmo Carlos, with the song “É Preciso Saber Viver”, which was also performed during the tour.
