Two New Mario Games Could Be on the Way

A Nintendo always bringing that feeling of mystery and expectation to fans. This time, a new leak from famous leaker Midori, who has gained notoriety for her accurate information about Nintendo releases, suggests that two new Mario games are on the way to the Nintendo Switch, or perhaps even the supposed Nintendo Switch 2.

According to Midori, the projects are codenamed “SPRed” and “SilverStar”. “SPRed” is in development by Nintendo itself, and the “Red” in the name is a strong indication that it is something related to our favorite mustachioed plumber, Mario.

The “SP”, however, is still a mystery. It could be “Super,” as in “Super Mario,” or something entirely new and unexpected. “SilverStar” has fewer details available, but the codename “Star” has also been used for Mario Odyssey in the past, which indicates that it could be a derivative or an expansion of the Mario universe.

Let's face it, Nintendo knows how to touch our gaming hearts. No matter how many consoles they launch, we always expect something innovative and nostalgic at the same time. And speaking of nostalgia, who doesn't remember the 16-bit Mario classics, like Super Mario World? Those pixelated graphics, the iconic soundtrack and the challenges that left us glued to the screen for hours… Ah, good times.

But returning to the present, rumors about these new games increase fans' curiosity and anxiety. Will we see a new epic Mario adventure exploring incredible worlds and facing off against Bowser in innovative ways?
