Whindersson Nunes faces British youtuber in amateur boxing match

Whindersson Nunes faces British youtuber King Kenny this Saturday (15) in the semifinal of the High Stakes boxing tournament, an amateur competition in which public figures from around the world face off. The fight will take place in the city of Dublin (Ireland) at 3 pm (Brasília time), with exclusive Brazilian transmission on the Combate channel for pay-per-view subscribers. Rede Globo will also repeat the fight between the youtubers in the early hours of Sunday at 1:50 am, right after “Supercine”.

Yesterday (14), Whindersson Nunes and King Kenny were face to face for the weigh-in. The Brazilian, who is 28 years old, weighed 76.2 kg on the scale. The 26-year-old Briton weighed 76.9 kg. The dispute is in the category for fighters under 77 kg, so the two youtubers were successful at the weigh-in and are ready to fight.

During the weigh-in, the climate between the competitors became tense, when the British refused to shake Whindersson Nunes’ hand. The Brazilian didn’t leave it cheap and used social networks to give the last pin before the fight and wrote: “You may be tall, but you’re pretty small! Tomorrow we will meet again”. Teasing between fighters is common in wrestling competitions, and is considered part of the show.

In the first phase, Whindersson Nunes faced Polish rapper Filipek and emerged victorious after winning by knockout during the 2nd round. The British, who has some experience in amateur boxing, with 5 five fights disputed, won in the first phase the youtuber My Mate Nate, also in the 2nd round. King Kenny became famous for posting videos with his brother and currently has around 2.1 million subscribers on his King Kenny TV channel.

Whindersson Nunes hopes to repeat the good performance he had in the first phase and qualify for the final that will take place on September 2nd in London, between the winner of the other semifinal between AnEnsonGib and Jarvis.
