Alessandra Ambrosio welcomes celebrities to a charity dinner at the Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Festival, famous for the most glamorous red carpet in the world, yesterday (20) was the stage for a night of solidarity in favor of Brazil with a dinner led by top model Alessandra Ambrosio.

Alongside model Cindy Mello from Rio Grande do Sul, Alessandra brought together one hundred special guests at the La Peite Maison restaurant in Cannes, for a benefit dinner in support of institutions supported by BrazilFoundation in Rio Grande do Sul.

With the support of Daniel Urzedo, Milan Blagojevic, Sofia Resing, and Paula Bezerra de Mello, BrazilFoundation board members, Alessandra and Cindy celebrated the launch of the Brazilian Soul Fund in partnership with the foundation.

“I wanted to take advantage of this occasion that brings together many friends from all over the world who share a special affection for Brazil. I have supported BrazilFoundation for over 10 years and have enormous admiration for the foundation's work, the way they select transformative projects and train community leaders”, says Alessandra.

“This is a cause very close to my heart, as my family is from the South, from the region where it was extremely affected, and I know the pain we are going through right now. I believe that this movement of bringing friends together to donate to Brazil during the festival can help bring resources to the most affected areas”.

“The affection and generosity of foreigners towards Brazil is moving, it was an event organized over 5 days for an audience that was largely European and American. For now, we have raised more than half a million reais in one night, but it will be a higher amount, as we have not yet finalized the total amount.”, reflects Paula Bezerra de Mello

The Brazilian Soul Fund will support 3 institutions in Rio Grande do Sul: Lajeado and Cruzeiro do Sul, Movimento Associação União BR and Instituto Geração Tricolor.
