“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” are nominated by the producers’ union; check out the full list

This Friday (13), the PGA Awards announced the list of films nominated for the 2024 edition, with Barbie, Oppenheimer and Poor Creatures competing in the main category. The award, organized by the United States producers union, is considered a strong barometer for the Oscar for Best Film.

The Producers Guild Awards, which take place on February 25th in Los Angeles, are known for anticipating the Oscar's decisions as they have already agreed on the award for 24 of the 34 Best Picture winners.

Last year alone, the producers' union predicted 7 out of 10 Oscar nominees in this category. In recent years, the awards have also been successful in 90% of Academy nominees.

The 2024 Oscars will have the nominees announced on January 23rd, while its 96th edition is scheduled for March 10th and will be hosted by comedian and writer Jimmy Kimmel.
