Cristiano Ronaldo wants to buy newspaper that he has sued several times

Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in the Portuguese press as a business. According to the publication of “EL PAÍS”, the star of the Al-Nassr integrates the company “Expressão Livre”, which wants to buy the Cofina Media group. Interestingly, this same group owns the newspaper “Correio da Manhã”, which has already been sued by CR7 on several occasions.

If the operation is successful, Cristiano Ronaldo will officially be a shareholder in the newspaper. It is worth mentioning that “Correio da Manhã” is the best-selling newspaper in the country of the 38-year-old player: there were 41,810 copies in circulation in the first half of 2023, even if it has little reach in the digital medium.

Ronaldo has already deliberately ignored questions from journalists from the Cofina Media group – which also includes the magazine “Sábado” and the broadcaster “CM” – due to news about his family, his relationships and his business. He had also already filed several lawsuits against the channels for “falsehood” and misinformation about him.

In 2011, the magazine “Vidas”, from “Correio da Manhã”, had published an interview with the former nanny of her eldest son, who pointed out that the child was the daughter of a Mexican woman, who would have been a “surrogate mother”. In addition, in 2015, the newspaper already reported on a millionaire compensation that the player should pay for allegedly harassing a minor on social media.

Likewise, in 2018, the group had written, on the front page, that the Real Madrid would have pressured CR7 (the biggest star in the squad at the time) to make a confidentiality agreement with Kathryn Mayorgaa model who claimed to have been raped by him in 2009. The Merengues board resorted to legal instruments against the newspaper.
