Mbappé would like to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January, several renowned media reported on Tuesday. The French striker reportedly feels abandoned by the Parisians’ club management.

The 23-year-old Mbappé extended his contract with PSG in May until mid-2025. According to RMC, Marca and The Guardian, among others, the Frenchman is dissatisfied with the past transfer period, and he is disappointed with his position in the field. He plays mainly as a striker and not as a left winger, his favorite position.

It is a new chapter in the already murky relationship between Mbappé and PSG. The star player wanted to leave in the summer of 2021 and enjoyed concrete interest from Real Madrid, but the French club refused to cooperate and rejected an offer of around 160 million euros.

As a result, Mbappé was able to leave Paris transfer-free last summer, but in May he surprisingly came to an agreement with PSG about a new, lucrative commitment. The leader in Ligue 1 would, just like in the summer of 2021, not be willing to sell Mbappé.

Mbappé has been wearing the shirt of Paris Saint-Germain since the summer of 2017, which first loaned him out for a year and then took over permanently from AS Monaco. The 59-time international has since played 229 games for the ten-time champion of France and was good for 182 goals and 88 assists.

Although Mbappé has already won four league titles with PSG, the desired success in Europe did not materialize. In the summer of 2020, the final of the Champions League was reached, but it was lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich.

Mbappé will take on Benfica in the group stage of the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening. If the star ensemble of coach Christophe Galtier triumphs and Juventus does not win at Maccabi Haifa, PSG is sure of a place in the eighth finals of the million ball.
