new golden calf win – Jandino Asporaat expresses his joy on Instagram about winning the Golden Calf of the Public, for his film Bon Bini Holland 3. It is the fourth time that a film by Asporaat receives the audience award. The previous three parts of the Bon Bini series also received the most votes.

Asporaat shares a photo of himself with the four Golden Calves and a video of his brother Kenneth, who received the award on Friday.

“Moved and incredibly proud by my brother’s speech,” writes the comedian. “Came to the Netherlands, ended up in a boarding school at the age of eleven, seeing your mother struggle as a single parent and real poverty known in the Netherlands. Something that people are only now realizing that it can and exists in the Netherlands.”

Asporaat says it makes him proud “that this poverty was our wealth, shaped us, made us self-reliant and we are now making history with four Golden Calves”.

The comedian has always followed his heart, he says. “It often means choosing the least popular route, because it doesn’t always endear you to speak out.” According to him, the profit also shows that the public is behind him. “Winning four Golden Calves and being voted best film four times in a row: that’s not luck, coincidence or surprise, but genuine love from the audience.”

Asporaat also won for Bon Bibi Holland (2016), Bon Bini Holland 2 (2019) and Bon Bini: Judeska in da House (2020) the only Calf where the winner is determined by the public.

The three most visited cinema films of the year had a chance to win the statuette. This year, in addition to Bon Bini Holland 3, they were also Costa!! and Alles Op Tafel.
