Ajax fan stabbed in Naples in the run-up to Champions League match

Ajax fan stabbed – An Ajax supporter was stabbed on Monday evening just in front of his hotel in Naples. A spokesman for the club from Amsterdam says that according to circumstances, the fan is doing well.

The stabbed fan has been treated in a hospital after the incident. The expectation is that he can attend the away game against Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday. It is unclear whether the supporter was recognizable as a fan at the time of the incident.

Ajax sold more than 2,200 tickets for the match at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The fans have been asked by Ajax not to wear club colors and to leave children at home.

In the past, away fans in Naples have been the target of violence more often. If Ajax fans want it, they can travel to the stadium together on Wednesday about three hours before the match. Buses run for almost an hour for safety reasons.
