Djokovic ATP wins – The final victory at the ATP Finals brings relief to Novak Djokovic. (Djokovic ATP wins). The Serbian number five in the world sees the win in Turin as a reward for his resilience. He said he needed it after the conflicts because of his vaccination status.
“Especially given the circumstances this season around the Australian Open, I am very relieved that I am here now,” said Djokovic after his victory over Casper Ruud in the final of the final of the final year tournament (7-5 and 6-3).

Thanks to the victory in Turin, Djokovic climbs three places on the ATP rankings and finishes in fifth place after a difficult year. The Serb surrendered a lot of points this year, because he missed the Australian Open and the US Open due to his refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Missing the Australian Open and the US Open obviously had a lot of effect on my year,” Djokovic said. “The first few months it was difficult for me to get into my game. It was difficult to get back to the level that I think is necessary mentally.”
Djokovic is not thinking about quitting for the time being
It meant for Novak Djokovic his sixth overall victory at the ATP Finals. He thus equals the number of record holder Roger Federer, who recently retired as a professional tennis player. Djokovic’s hunger for more titles is far from satisfied.
“My ambitions are still very high. I am motivated, I feel good about myself and I take good care of my body. As long as I feel the fire burning inside me, I will do everything I can to compete against the youth and win the biggest trophies,” said the 35-year-old winner of 21 Grand Slam titles.
In addition to the ATP Finals, Djokovic won four titles this season. The Serb was the best at Wimbledon and the ATP tournaments in Rome, Astana and Tel Aviv earlier this year.
