Helicopter crash on farm in São Carlos district leaves two dead

In the interior of São Paulo, in São Carlos, a helicopter crashed and left two people dead, the pilot and the co-pilot.

According to the Fire Department, the aircraft was destined for the international agricultural technology fair Agrishow, which takes place in the city of Ribeirão Preto, the event’s headquarters, which is also located in the interior of São Paulo, when it crashed on a farm at around 5:30 p.m. .

The victims aged 45 and 46 died charred, both were hit by fuel that ended up leaking from the aircraft, the victims did not have their identities revealed. The incident was attended by 12 firefighters, who ended up traveling to the accident site with five vehicles and with the Civil Police and also with SAMU.

The FAB (Brazilian Air Force) said the registration of the turboshaft engine helicopter, according to data from Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) one of the owners of the aircraft is an agricultural machinery company that is also among the exhibitors at Agrishow.

The Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) informed in a note that Investigators from the Fourth Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Seripa IV), were called to carry out the Initial Action of the occurrence involving the aircraft with “the registration PR-HRC”.

This initial action consists of collecting data for the investigation, they will choose the wreckage and verify the data caused by the aircraft and also by the helicopter itself.

The helicopter’s destination was for Agrishow, which is an international fair on agricultural technology, several agribusiness entrepreneurs and also politicians have been present at the event, the event started last Monday (1) and the closing of the event is scheduled for the 5th of May, on Friday.

Agrishow said in a statement that it regrets the accident and informed that the management of the event is in solidarity and also sends a message of comfort to family, friends and co-workers.
