Palmeiras beats Barcelona-EQU and wins the second in Libertadores

Away from home, Palmeiras beat Barcelona de Guayaquil, won the second triumph in Libertadores and gave an important pass to qualify in Group C

O palm trees won the barcelona de guayquil by 2 to 0 on the night of this Wednesday, 3, for the third round of Group C of the Libertadores. Raphael Veiga (penalty) and Gustavo Gomez scored Verdão’s goals at the Monumental de Guayaquil, in Ecuador.

With the result, the club from São Paulo conquered the second victory, reached six points and was in second place in the group, behind only bolivar, which takes the lead on goal difference. The team of Abel Ferreira took an important step towards qualifying for the round of 16. The Ecuadorian team appears in third place, parked in the three points.

The teams return to the field for the fourth round of the Libertadores group stage in three weeks. On May 23, at 9 pm (Brasília time), Barcelona de Guayaquil visit Bolívar. On the 25th, at 9 pm (Brasília time), Palmeiras will face Cerro Porteñoout of home.

The game

The home team started the match pressing, demanding great defense from weverton at the header of Agustin Rodriguez.
