Recordings for the third season of “Euphoria” are halted indefinitely

In an article, Variety magazine reported, this Monday (25), that the recordings of the third season of the series “Euphoria” were postponed, by HBO, to 2025. In an interview with the information portal, a spokesperson for the broadcaster informed which cast was released to look for new projects: “HBO and Sam Levinson (creator of Euphoria) remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the meantime, we are freeing up our squad to pursue other opportunities.”

Reasons for interruption

According to the magazine, the interruption of filming may have been motivated by two factors: the first would be the strike of actors and screenwriters in Hollywood, and the second, the death of actor Agnus Cloud, who played the drug dealer Frezco, in July 2023.

Despite the unexpected stoppage and the concern of fans of the series, a cancellation is not planned, nor was it mentioned in an interview.

Unexpected twists

The magazine deadline also recently published an article with actress Colman Domingo, who plays the character Ali in the series.

During the interview, the star gave details about the new plots of the series and informed that Sam Levinson's idea is to continue surprising the audience and present great twists: “As soon as there is any expectation about the series, he is someone who wants to dispel that expectation, because he is truly a consummate artist and wants to make sure he is delivering a really compelling narrative.”he revealed.

“Even though we've had some successes with past seasons, he'll say, 'We're not going to lean on that. We're going to move forward. We're going to delve even deeper into these characters. I'm really going to peel back all the layers of them and get to their hearts.” added the actress.

During one of his press presentations in November 2023, Casey Bloys, president of HBO and the streaming platform Max, promised the premiere of the third season of “Euphoria” for 2025, three years after the debut of the second year.
