Hey there, PC Master Race guys! If you still doubted that the PC is the true promised land of gamingI'm going to tell you a story that will make you feel even happier for choosing this platform. You know that game called Concord? No? Well, you're not the only one. Apparently, not even console owners who bought the game remember it exists. With estimated sales of miserable With 25,000 copies sold between Steam and PlayStation, Concord can already be considered one of the industry's biggest recent failures. And I'm here to explain why this only reinforces what we already know: playing on PC is incomparably better.

Concord: A Game That Was Stillborn

So, let's get to it. Concord is one of those games that smells like mothballs right away. Developed by Firewalk and published by Sony, it was marketed as a multiplayer “hero shooter”, with the aim of competing with giants like Overwatch and Valorant. But, you know how it is, right? Launching a shooter in 2024 that looks like it came out of 2017 is not exactly a recipe for success. Result? At the moment, the game has less than 100 active players on Steam. Yes, you read that right: less than 100 players.

To give you an idea, Concord managed to sell around 10,000 copies on Steam and another 15,000 on PlayStation. That's right, we're talking about a game that could barely fill a college classroom. And if you think this failure has to do with the quality of the game, well, you're right – but there's more to it than that.

A Price That Doesn't Justify the Experience

If you take a look at the review I did for GameHall, you'll see that Concord is not necessarily a bad game. It does some things right, like the graphics and gameplay (which, let's be honest, are the bare minimum). But the big problem is that Concord is irrelevant. In the gaming world, where you have fantastic options on PC, why would anyone spend 200 bucks on a game that doesn't offer anything new or exciting?

Meanwhile, we, the glorious PC community, are here playing titles infinitely superior, often for free. Who needs to pay to be disappointed, when we have access to titles like Warframe, Apex Legends and even CS which remains strong as one of the best FPS options on the market?

Fun Fact: How Overwatch Showed the Way and Concord Got It Wrong

Concord: The Fate of a Doomed Game

Ultimately, Concord is yet another example of how the console market is falling behind. While we at PC Master Race continue to enjoy the best gaming experiences, with constant updates and an active community, consoles are stuck in a cycle of mediocre releases that fail to sustain themselves. And it’s not just a matter of hardware – it’s the mindset behind the releases. Concord is a game that should have been shelved, but ended up being released, probably in the hopes of capitalizing on nostalgia for the golden age of hero shooters. But as we’ve seen, that didn’t work out.

And so, once again, the scales tip in favor of the PC. While consoles struggle to keep up, the PC Master Race continues unabated, with a game offering so rich and varied that it's hard not to fall in love with this platform. Concord may have sold a few copies, but the truth is that it was born destined to be forgotten. And if you're still thinking about spending your hard-earned money on a console, maybe it's time to reconsider. Because here on the PC, the fun never stops, and the next big release is always just a click away.
