Improved versions of PS5 and Xbox Series are “likely”, says Take-Two boss

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has commented on the possibility of seeing improved versions of PS5 and Xbox Series, saying he believes it is “likely” that this will happen.

“We’ll probably see,” Zelnick told the site. GI.bizadding that the previous generation of updated consoles “didn’t affect the business too much” and that Take-Two will continue to support next-gen hardware.

Furthermore, with rumors that Nintendo’s new console will arrive next year, Zelnick said that the company will continue to support that console as well. “Yes, I think we will continue to support him,” he said.

The PS5 and Xbox Series are just over 2 years each since they were released in November 2020. The Xbox One only received an upgrade in the form of the Xbox One X in 2017, four years after it was launched, while the PS4 Pro came out three years after the PS4 arrived.

In March, a rumor surfaced that the PS5 Pro is in development and will come out in late 2024. It was also reported that console dev kits will reportedly be shipped to studios later this year.
